While I barely post anything, I have been working in the studio quite a bit this summer. I go in the mornings after a super-early workout class while it is still cool enough to be bearable — at 7am. The studio gets very hot in the summer. My studio-mates include weavers, who have three looms set up, full of fabric in varies stages of creation. We have to keep the windows closed at night in case a bird gets in and ruins the weavers' threads that are set up on the looms. Too bad, open windows would cool it down considerably over night.
This is a new one, yet to be titled. I am working on three others of a similar size and palette, so will title them all at once. I worked on my fear of white when painting this one. White, on its own, always seems so stark and deliberate, that I avoid using it full strength. But here, I worked with it, and I am coming around to appreciating strong whites and figuring out how to achieve the softness I want. This image can't possibly demonstrate the subtleties.
